For the next couple of days Berlin is becoming the hotspot for all fashion addicts. From the 2nd until the 5th of July, more than 60 designers, including well-known labels as Schumacher, DIMITRI, Laurèl andKaviar Gauche will represent their Spring/Summer Collection 2014.
We are quite thrilled to see the new collection by Berlin based Lala Berlin on thursday. Leyla Piedayesh already won us over with her Autumn/Winter Collection 2013/2014, which was inspired by no other than the “Godmother of Punk” Patti Smith. This collection was dominated by strong prints, like camouflage, stars, as well as our all-time favorite, the ethno design.

Guess who is opening a store right here in Berlin? Fashion Tzar Karl Lagerfeld himself. Right on time for fashion week, Karl Lagerfeld will open his first shop in Berlin located at the Schönhauserstraße. Besides accessoires, women- and menswears, the store will also offer a small selection of gifts and books. The interior will reflect his usual design concepts, simple and clear structures dominated by black and white.
Also, Berlin will open its first very own cats café soon. Yes, you heard that right, a cats cafe. Cafe Felidae, will be a mixture between a cats café and a world of several walkable art installations with an inside and outside area. Maybe Karl could visit together with his precious cat Choupette?
When Forever 21 recently opened in Berlin, we were pretty excited about it. Forever 21 was a store we would often shop at when we used to study in the U.S. together, as it was it was one of those cool American stores that we did not have in Europe back then, like Urban Outfitters. We would tell each other by entering the store to meet again in an hour. We would always walk out the store with big smiles on our faces and about 6 of those typical yellow Forever 21 bags hanging around our arms. So we basically wanted to continue this shopping ritual when the store opened a couple of weeks ago here in Berlin, as it had been quite some years since we had shopped at Forever 21. However, our F21 shopping experience as we know it was not as nice. In fact, we were slightly annoyed by the chaos and most of the items seemed to not fit our style anymore. In the end only Judith ended up buying a dress which she is wearing in the pictures above. Maybe it was just not our shopping day, maybe we just won’t be forever 21.
Dress, Forever 21; Bag, Zara; Shoes, Jonak – also worn here.
When I (Judith) became the proud owner of a Mulberry Bayswater 2 years ago – after much contemplating as the pricetag of this precious bag still haunts me sometimes – I have been obsessed with everything that is being made by this British heritage brand. I was stunned today when I saw the new Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign by Mulberry shot by photographer Tim Walker, starring model-of-the-moment/it-girl/lady with the prettiest bushy eyebrows Cara Delevigne and some feathery friends. The campaign celebrates the beauty and mystery of the British country side. Rumour has it that Cara will follow the footsteps of her fellow it-girl colleagues Alexa Chung and Lana Del Rey, as she might be creating her own Mulberry bag soon, just like they did. Whoop, whoop, Cara Delivigne. Or should we say: hoot, hoot. I mean, how cute are those owls Cara is posing with? They should get some credit too.

Even though it seemed like Berlin got hit hard by a heat stroke last week and an overdose of sun, it has been raining cats and dogs today. Don’t you just hate it when the weather can’t make up its mind? But no matter if the rain came pouring down today, we still got one thing on our minds: summer festivals and open airs. Is your closet already festival proof? If not, we know where you will find exactly what you need for this magical season of music festivals. There is no better place to shop or at least to get some inspiration than at Free People, which is part of the Urban Outfitters family.
Some of our favorite pieces you can see in the ‘Love Bird‘ lookbook, which combines subtle earth tones with pale blue. But no worries, this collection is anything but boring. The funky key-pieces add a certain glamorous touch as well as an urban vibe to your look and are definitely the right pick for every festival.
So let the festivities begin! Do you have any festivals planned for this summer?

Upcycling seems to be the latest thing in sustainable fashionland. In response tot his, British fashionlabel Topshop has teamed up with eco-friendly label Reclaim to Wear to launch a capsule collection exclusively made from used materials. Produced entirely in England to support local trade, the collection includes some summer wardrobe musthaves characterized by colorful printed silks in vibrant colors. Our favorite item is the oversized floral printed blouse, available here. Sustainablity should always be “in fashion”.
